Lindel Eakman, Partner, Foundry Group

Lindel has been investing in venture-backed companies and venture firms for nearly two decades, building an extensive network of limited partners, venture capitalists, and founders. Lindel institutionalized Foundry’s partner fund strategy and works closely with partner fund managers, while also leading new fund investments. He is actively involved with Foundry’s direct investment strategy, working with existing portfolio companies and leading new investments alongside the firm’s partner funds. Prior to joining Foundry, he managed the private investment program for the University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO) where he built the endowment’s venture capital program. He sponsored early investments at leading venture capital firms including IA Ventures, True Ventures, Union Square Ventures, and Foundry Group. Lindel resides in Boulder where hiking, fishing, and skiing almost make him forget how much he misses the tacos and music of Austin.

Alan Mattamana, Partner, Fairview Capital Partners

Alan is a partner at Fairview Capital and a member of its investment committee. He is involved in investment selection and monitoring activities for Fairview’s venture capital, private equity partnership and direct co-investment portfolios. Mr. Mattamana serves on a number of advisory boards of venture capital and private equity partnerships, and represents Fairview on the boards of eVariant (acquired by Healthgrades), Device42, Rallybio, Inbox Health, 365 Datacenters, and Covr Financial. Prior to joining Fairview, Alan was a venture capital investor with Polaris Venture Partners where he focused on investments in the software, digital media, consumer, medical technology, and healthcare services sectors. Previously, he was a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Co, where he served clients in the software, telecommunications and aerospace sectors.  He also has prior experience at NASA, Goldman Sachs, and Neuberger Berman.

Courtney Russell McCrea, Managing Partner and Co-Founder, Recast Capital

Courtney is the co-founder and managing partner of Recast Capital, a platform supporting and investing in emerging managers in venture. The Recast team believes that emerging managers, particularly those with diverse partnerships, represent both an underserved market and overlooked business opportunity, and is taking a new approach to meeting the need. Courtney is also a Kauffman Fellow, class 3. Most recently, she was a managing director at Weathergage Capital, a boutique fund of funds that provided its clients with access to premier venture capital, growth equity and micro-VC partnerships. Prior to Weathergage, Courtney was a general partner with Weston Presidio. After seven years at Weston Presidio, she  founded Silver Partners, a private equity advisory for secondary and co-investment opportunities. She was also a director at Sterling Stamo, managing investments in buyout funds, venture capital funds and hedge funds.

The Recast team believes that emerging managers, particularly those with diverse partnerships, represent both an underserved market and overlooked business opportunity, and is taking a new approach to meeting the need. Courtney is also a Kauffman Fellow, class 3. Winter Mead, CEO, Oper8r

Winter has worked in financial services for a decade investing approximately $900 million across 80 private equity and venture capital firms as a Limited Partner, specializing in venture capital. Before becoming an investor, Winter Mead worked in the technology world at three different angel and venture capital financed start-ups. Winter has also been involved at the committee level with two leading industry organizations, National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) and Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA), and in his spare time helps teach a course at Stanford University focused on entrepreneurship and venture capital. He is also a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, which is a professional designation for those specializing in alternative investments, such as venture capital. Winter is the author of How To Raise A Venture Capital Fund: The Essential Guide On Fundraising And Understanding Limited Partners.

Erin Harkless Moore, Investment Director, Pivotal Ventures

Erin is the investments director at Pivotal Ventures, an investment and incubation company created by Melinda Gates to advance social progress in the U.S. Erin heads the investment team at Pivotal and is responsible for identifying, investing and managing a diverse portfolio of fund and direct investments that drive breakthrough innovations and advance women’s power and influence. Erin has over a decade of experience building and managing customized investment portfolios for endowed institutions and family offices. Prior to Pivotal Ventures, Erin was a managing director at Cambridge Associates and has also held positions at the Princeton University Investment Company, Summit Rock Advisors and Goldman Sachs. Erin received her MBA from Harvard Business School and her BSBA magna cum laude from Washington University. She is a CFA charterholder and member of the CFA Society of Washington DC.

Julie Wroblewski is managing partner and co-founder at Magnify Ventures, an early stage venture capital fund investing in family-focused technology companies. The fund backs visionary founders with bold ideas to reimagine life, work, and care for modern families. Julie served as advisor and investor for global leaders, family offices, and foundations including as an advisor to Melinda Gates and Gates’ organizations on strategy and investments. She launched the venture capital investing arm of Pivotal Ventures, an investment and incubation company created by Melinda Gates to advance social progress in the U.S. In that role, Julie led investments into top performing and emerging manager funds in venture capital and early-stage technology companies that align with Pivotal’s mission. Julie began her career in economic research and financial markets and was a research associate at the Federal Reserve Bank.
